It was built next to the hospital and houses Palliative Care and Mental Health Services for elderly South Australians and other rehabilitation wards.
It also includes a multi-deck car park for over 1780 vehicles to accommodate locals and visitors to the facility. In 2008, the Magaret Tobin Centre for mental health was officially opened
This state-of-the-art redevelopment of Flinders Medical Centre is modern, clean and practical
This was one of Panorama’s largest commercial concrete projects in Adelaide. We were thrilled to be involved with the project team which made this vision come to fruition over 9 years.
We laid thousands of square metres of concrete creating walkways, driveways and pathways for staff, patients and visitors.
A boom pump was needed to get to tight pathways between buildings
We laid pathways for the interconnecting buildings using a boom pump to pour the concrete because of the tight access to internal courtyards, it was a very detailed operation getting concrete to some of these hard to access areas!
We used exposed aggregate concrete in two colours – brown and cream – surrounding a garden as a centre piece. The concrete itself called for a smooth finish to be used by hospital patients with walkers and wheelchairs. Our low profile Milled finish was installed for a smoother result.
Did you know? The Flinders Medical Centre first opened in 1976, admits more than 55,000 patients per annum and employs over 5000 staff.
All of this experience and knowledge benefits our residential customers who we have been servicing in Adelaide for more than 30 years. We have been providing concrete to Adelaide residences for a long time and will continue to be around for a long time yet.
We know concrete, how to lay it and how to ensure a perfect result and to top it off we are excellent value for money.
