For driveways, patios, walkways and pool surrounds
If you’re thinking about what to do with your driveway, patio, walkways or the area surrounding your pool, consider stamped concrete. There are so many wonderful things about this style of concrete!
Over the many years that we’ve been installing stamped concrete, our projects look as good today as they did when they were first installed. Stamped concrete styles have stood the test of time and have aged beautifully. There are styles to suit modern and traditional homes, and the best part is, there is very little maintenance to do.
Here are some of our favourite stamped concrete ideas for your home.
1. Stamped concrete for driveways
Driveways take up a large part of the front yard and so it’s important that they complement the home, enhancing its beauty. Stamped concrete offers many choices for both traditional and modern homes with a range of patterns to choose from. You will have the look and feel of individual paver blocks or tiles, but not the maintenance.
For example, if you have a heritage or traditional home, you may prefer the cobblestone series, which look just like real cobblestones of years gone by. Or you may prefer the slate range, which is a natural slate style combined with the structural strength of concrete. It’s more modern but still has texture and pattern, and it’s durable, easy to maintain, oil and stain resistant.
During a consultation with our concrete consultants, we’ll discuss your lifestyle needs today and in the future, and we’ll help you plan ahead. For example, you may be planning for a family in which case you need smoother concrete for little children running around, to care for little knees if they fall. Or if you plan to buy a caravan or commercial vehicle in the future, we may suggest a concrete style which has a little more strength and grip. These potential lifestyle changes are discussed and allowed for in the planning and design process where possible.

2. Stamped concrete for patios
We’ve installed our slate range in many patios to extend a home’s living space and provide an area for entertaining family and friends. It’s smooth enough for table and chair legs and provides texture and a lovely finish if the home is more traditional and needs a warmer, cosier paver style.
Stamped concrete also comes in a tiled finish, which looks like individual tiles but without the maintenance and weeding between the pavers.
You might also be considering your garage as a potential living space in the future. If this is the case you may want to use a stamped concrete such as slate, tile, or handcrafted saw-cut concrete, to provide a uniform surface for a patio setting in the future.
For modern homes, a smoother handcrafted sawcut concrete https://panoramaconcrete.com.au/handcrafted-saw-cut-concrete/ finish is ideal for patios and driveways. We lay the concrete colour of your choice, which may have some aggregate depending on how smooth you want it to be. We then return a few days later to saw cut squares or rectangles into the concrete. The end result is a patio that looks like it’s been laid with individual urban style pavers, but there are no weeds and there is no movement between the pavers so it remains consistently beautiful over the years.

3. Stamped concrete for walkways
For meandering pathways and walkways around your home, laying stamped concrete means you won’t have to worry about weeds growing or pavers moving. And they look as good as new for years to come, maybe needing an occasional reseal every few years.
Cobblestone, slate and tile-stamped concrete styles are all ideal for pathways and walkways. See our images below and visit our showroom for many more ideas.

4. Stamped concrete around pools
We’ve used our slate stamped concrete for many pool areas. It’s smooth but still has texture, and you can choose a colour to complement the surrounding environment. If you happen to live in a natural or bushy setting, the slate style blends in beautifully.
Our handcrafted sawcut range gives a modern and uniform style for pool areas in more modern homes. We pay attention to the surface around pool areas to ensure there is enough grip when the surfaces are wet.

An alternative to stamped concrete: Handcrafted Saw-cut concrete
Handcrafted saw-cut concrete decorative paving is one of our specialties. This upmarket, smooth urban concrete style is ideal for driveways and patios and looks like high end pavers or tiles but without the weeds and movement that can happen with paver blocks. This beautiful concrete style is more expensive than stamped concrete, but if your budget allows and you need a smoother finish, then it’s worth considering.
Installation takes a few days with this concrete style. Once we have poured the concrete base and allowed it to harden, our specialist concrete team return to saw-cut square or rectangular patterns into the top of the slab in sizes from 600mm to 300mm in size. The concrete slab can have a smooth one-coloured appearance or an exposed aggregate milled finish. This allows small amounts of coloured aggregate to show through, and is smoother to walk on than traditional exposed aggregate finishes.
